Earlier this week, Insomniac Games announced that its founder, Ted Price, will retire after over 30 years of running the company. Price will stay on until March and then be replaced by a trio of new studio bosses: Ryan Schneider, Chad Dezern, and Jen Huang.
While Price might be leaving, that doesn’t mean the studio will be aiming lower, as the studio will continue what they call a “really ambitious roadmap.”

It sure has been a good year to be a Spider-Man fan.

In an interview with Variety, the new studio bosses discussed Price’s upcoming retirement. Dezern says that as the triumvirate takes over, “on great projects and with a really ambitious roadmap, our main thing to do first is to ensure continuity. We want to continue building on what we’ve started and really bringing great games to the world.”
While the studio’s only officially announced game is Marvel’s Wolverine, which is in the same universe as the Marvel’s Spider-Man franchise, the studio’s roadmap of projects surfaced as part of a big ransomware attack. It’s unknown whether anything there changed, but the roadmap included titles such as the X-Men, Venom’s standalone game and more.
In the same interview, Schneider, who will manage partnerships with other PlayStation Studios, SIE, and Marvel teams, mentioned that they are aware of fan expectations regarding their games.
“We’re very aware of fan expectations, and we strive to meet them and exceed them with every game we make and we want to just continue that run together. We know what makes Insomniac special, and we know what it takes to keep us evolving and thriving into the future,” Schneider notes.

Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered Multiplayer Mod Takes Shape and Looks Solid So Far
With Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered release on PC, it's inevitable the community will make mods for the game.

When it comes to the studio’s officially announced game, Wolverine, Dezern wouldn’t confirm or deny a 2025 release for the action game. We’ve announced ‘Wolverine,’ and we’d love to talk more about ‘Wolverine,’ but we have to be like Logan today, and remain very stoic until it’s time to pop the claws down the road. As much as we’re as much as we have pent up excitement, we got to hold on to it. So that’s, that’s about as much as we could say about our upcoming projects today,” Dezern shared.
With Price leaving, the trio of bosses have big shoes to fill, especially since Insomniac Games is considered by some (including me) as the best first-party PlayStation studio Sony has in their arsenal.
Marvel’s Wolverine has no release date set yet, but it is confirmed to be released on the PS5. For those on PC, you’ll soon be able to play Insomniac’s follow-up to their hit superhero debut game, as Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be released on PC this January 30, with Nixxes Software doing the development duties.
